Cylinders of matte opal glass rise from circular socket holders to give Southport a well-proportioned look that is sleek and strong. Cast beading on the round backplate and the shade base create a Streamline Moderne motif, drawn from an offshoot of Art Deco developed in the 1930s and often conflated with its parent design movement.
